Singita Boulders lodge – South Africa

Singita which translates as “place of miracles”, is a group of world-renowned games reserves in Africa which provide a positive balance of hospitality, conservation and community for all of their guests. The luxury lodges contain an eclectic mix of African heritage and European contemporary furniture which adds a luxury feel to this unique African game reserve.

Boulders Lodge is one of  Singita’s many lodges, it has a contemporary air of tranquillity that honours Africa in an authentic way. The name Boulders was inspired by an enormous boulder that sat right at the centre of where the wine cellar was to be built. Rather than getting rid of it, the cellar was built around the boulder.

Boulders lodge is a thatched-cottage lodge with sculpted looking room and whitewashed plaster curves flowing into one other organically. The quiet pond alongside the thatched lounge area allows the light and the landscape inside to the wide open spaces, where straw baskets, neutral shades and textured fabrics complement wooden furniture.

The polished teak floor, stone-stack walls, animal rugs and a modern central fireplace rotate between bedroom and the bathroom, giving a retro feel.
